A significant advantage of the Emunox-System is the almost unlimited application in all engines and injection systems. The only condition is an adequate reserve in the injection system for an increase in the emulsion volume of up to 50% com-pared to fuel, or a possible reduction in the power output of the engine.
The Emunox-System is set up so that a failure of the water supply does not cause the diesel engine to stop. In this case the diesel engine continues to run on pure fuel and the fault can be rectified at the end of the working shift.
To prevent corrosion in the engine injection system, corrosion protection fluid is mixed in, either manually or fully automatically as shown in the water supply diagram. The Emunox-System can of course be operated together with other equipment to reduce exhaust gas emissions.
In Switzerland, among others, exhaust emission values for CHP generating plants of Nox < 50 mg/m3 und Soot < 20 mg/m3 are required. Because of the many problems with soot filters in continuous operation, Emunox-Systems together with SCR catalysers are already in use in a number of plants. According to official measurements, for example by the WWF in Zurich, even these values have been considerably bettered.
